Rather the book is a motley collection of his stories that have appeared in publications such as Vogue Entertaining & Travel, Delicious and The Age Epicure section. Unashamedly cashing in on the success of the hugely successful MasterChef Australia, it is a light-hearted, insightful romp around the food world, from interviews with some of the world’s most influential chefs to discourses on Indian food, guilty pleasures, the ritual of an annual pig kill, and making jam and ice-cream. There are some insights from the set of MasterChef too. Preston has been writing on food for more than a decade but came to national prominence with his appearances as a cravat-wearing critic on the top-rating reality television show.
