awards now open

Nominations are now open for the 2013 Comcare Work Health and Safety Awards.
   This year nominations are also being from relevant industry providers in fields such as rehabilitation and return to work.
   The 2013 awards categories include Workplace Health and Wellbeing Initiative; Workplace Health and Safety Management System; Solution to an Identified Workplace Health and Safety Hazard; and Individual Contribution to Health and Safety a) An individual, b) An individual with responsibility for WHS as part of their duties.
Change blamed for extreme weather

   Other award categories are Health and Safety Representative of the Year; Rehabilitation and Return to Work Management; Individual Contribution to Rehabilitation and Return to Work; and Claims Manager of the Year.
   Chief Executive of Comcare, Paul O’Connor said he was delighted the awards now included industry providers who also played an important role in getting injured workers back to work.
   “I encourage as many nominations as possible for these awards which recognise excellence in workplace health and safety, rehabilitation and return to work achieved by individuals and organisations covered by the Comcare scheme,” Mr O’Connor said.
   “The awards highlight these contributions and how important they are in keeping employees safe, both physically and mentally at work.”
