Roles combined at
The organisational structure of Screen Australia has been reviewed, with two senior officials set to depart the Agency at the completion of their contracts in December.
The review was undertaken in an effort to ensure good transition and business continuity for the industry during a time of significant change.
Screen Australia has now decided to combine the roles of Head of Production Investment and Head of Development into a new Head of Production position.
Ross Matthews and Martha Coleman occupy the positions set to be merged and will continue to do so until the end of the year, although the new position will be advertised both domestically and internationally at the end of August.
This new position will oversee the Development, Production Investment and Documentary functions at the Agency.
Chief Executive of Screen Australia, Ruth Harley said there were natural synergies between the Agency’s development, production investment and documentary functions.
“This change will allow the funding areas to work more closely together,” Ms Harley said.
“We believe that this is a more streamlined structure, enabling us to be more efficient, and will make it easier for the industry to work with us.”
Meanwhile, after four years with Screen Australia, Elizabeth Grinston has resigned from her position of General Counsel to take up the role of General Counsel at the University of NSW in October.
Screen Australia will recruit a new Head of Legal Services, with the role to be advertised both externally and internally shortly.
