New APSC program
on work structure

The APS Structuring Work learning program materials have been released by the Australian Public Service Commission’s Strategic Centre for Leadership and Learning Development.
The Commission says ‘structuring work’ has been identified as a foundation skills priority in the APS Leadership and Core Skills Strategy 2012-13.
“The resulting program aligns to the 70-20-10 best-practice model and has been developed as a result of extensive consultation and research,” the Commission says.
“The program materials have been designed for APS-wide use, while at the same time allowing Agencies to customise the program to their individual needs and contexts.”
Materials now available
Materials available for download include the implementation guide, learning design standard, participant manual, participant activity workbook, facilitator guide, coaching guide, participant pre-reading, power point slide set and evaluation forms.
The Commission says the implementation guide provides important guidance on how to implement the 70-20-10 components of the program
It says people who have difficulty accessing the materials on Govdex should firstly contact their Agency's ICT area to see if there are any local system issues.
“Then, if they are still unable to download the materials, they should email and we will arrange to distribute the material via an alternative medium,” the APSC says.
The learning materials are available for download via the APSC Core and Management Skills Reference Group Govdex site at this PS News link.
