Ryan to head new aged care Agency
Nick Ryan (pictured) has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency for a five-year term.
The Agency replaced the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency Ltd on 1 January 2014 as the organisation responsible for quality assurance across the aged care sector.
Mr Ryan has previously been Chief Executive Officer of Leading Age Services Australia Queensland, and a senior executive within the Queensland Public Service.Changing of guard at Infrastructure Australia
Ex-KPMG Infrastructure Adviser and and former Deputy Secretary at the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance, John Fitzgerald has been appointed as the interim Acting Australian Government Infrastructure Coordinator.
The interim appointment, pending the appointment of a new Chief Executive to Infrastructure Australia, replaces Acting Infrastructure Coordinator, Rory Brennan, and was recommended by former Infrastructure Australia Chair, Sir Rod Eddington and the new Chair, Mark Birrell.
Infrastructure Australia members Anthony Kannis, Elana Rubin, Jim Hallion, Dr Martin Parkinson, Phil Hennessy, Nicole Lockwood, Dr Kerry Schott and Professor Peter Newman have all been appointed to new terms, and will continue at the Agency, along with Dr Ian Watt whose appointment had not expired.
New Federal Court Judge
Jacqueline Sarah Gleeson SC has been appointed as a Judge to the Federal Court of Australia.
Ms Gleeson joined the Sydney registry of the Federal Court , effective 15 April 2015, to fill the vacancy left on the retirement of Justice Dennis Cowdroy.
She left the bar in 2000 to practise as a solicitor with the Australian Broadcasting Authority, then the Australian Government Solicitor, before returning to the bar in 2007 and becoming Senior Counsel in 2012.
Takeovers Panel gains new members
Minister for Finance, Senator Mathias Cormann has announced the appointment of five new members of the Takeovers Panel and the appointment of five existing members as new Alternative Presidents.
Karen Evans-Cullen, Michelle Jablko, Ian Jackman SC, Christian Johnston and John Sheahan QC join the Panel, while Dr Nora Scheinkestel, Ewen Crouch, Sarah Dulhunty, Richard Hunt and Heather Zampatti have been appointed as Alternative Presidents to step in when the President is unavailable due to conflicts of interest or other matters.
The five appointees join the 32 other members on the Takeovers Panel, effective from 14 April 2014 until 7 March 2017.

ACMA consumer representatives
The Australian Communications and Media Authority has appointed eight representatives to its Consumer Consultative Forum (CCF).
The CCF is a key element in the ACMA's approach to consumer engagement and the forum has been structured to provide the opportunity for consumer representatives to ventilate issues and suggest solutions.
The consumer representatives are: Stella Avramopoulos, Hollie Baillieu,
Teresa Corbin, Narelle Clark, Daniel Featherstone, Chris Jeffery, Catriona Lowe, and Professor Julian Thomas.
Departing CCF members are Nicole Lawder, Heron Loban and Rex Lai.
The Forum is chaired by ACMA's Member, Chris Cheah.
The Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission Chairperson, Cameron Dick has resigned following his endorsement as a candidate for the Queensland Legislative Assembly by the Queensland Branch of the Australian Labor Party.
Comcare said his stewardship had resulted in significant progress for work health and safety at a national level, the delivery of access to fair and just worker's compensation and ensuring injured workers had a pathway back to productive and meaningful work.
Arrangements are under way for the appointment of an interim chairperson and the recruitment of a permanent chairperson for the Commission.
